-another one of my facebook friends posted a different version of this song tonight so i wanted to share it & share my memory of this song with you. It reminds me so much of the love story my Aunt & Uncle shared. He died a few months ago. He was my favorite uncle & was called that by many of my cousins. I spoke to my aunt earlier this week and she invited me to visit a memory of him driving her to Utah, Oregon ,Washington. My aunt got to see a lot of the country because of this highway man. He in turn, got to experience a beautiful soul that is my aunt - an undeniable energy which is both calming & fierce. I think each of these people were each other’s lighthouse. In High school i drew a pencil sketch of a man & woman embracing. I don’t have it anymore but this song & their love were the inspiration for it. It gets me each time i listen to it. Fighting back tears now, i recall his McRuss burgers, the times he took me fishing & camping & the huge heart he had in his tough guy stance. I asked my aunt if I were to go visit, if she would please cook her famous meatloaf with her. She laughed & said of course. I love my uncle & my heart breaks to think of my aunt’s loss but she is amazing and I’m grateful HE got to experience her as well. Just to be around to witness their love for each other… is a blessing.
